One of my best memories with Karen is when my parents and her parents took she and I on a missionary trip to Mexico. We were already friends and so we got the privilege of going. My siblings were promised a trip some other time. We rode in a van full of clothes and things to give away. We had tortillas cooked for us on an open fire on a dirt floor of the host’s home.
Another memory I have of Karen is she and another friend of mine arguing over who would carry my school books while I walked on crutches.
