Obituary

Phyllis Ann Wood, of Conway, passed away peacefully after her courageous battle with cancer on July 29, 2019 at the age of 72. Phyllis was born on November 3, 1946 in Roanoke, Virginia to William and Sylvia (Hall) Bernard. She retired after 28 years from the Conway Human Development Center. She was a Christian, she loved animals and was a faithful contributor to A.S.P.C.A. She always found humor in everything, and was an expert at making everyone laugh. Everyone that knew her, knew where they stood with her on any given day. She loved her dear friend, Frankie Collister. Most of all she loved her grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Larry T. Wilgus of Virginia; Kenneth L. Wood of Conway; one daughter, Kimberly Lassiter (Dan) of Conway; three sisters, Robin Bernard; Gwen Farringer; Wanda Stevens; three brothers, Timothy Sutphin; William Bernard II; Stephen Bernard; eight grandchildren, Whitney Wood; Bethany Wood; Emily Lassiter; Allen Wood; Erin Lassiter; Haylee Davis; Kaylee Wood; Brylee Wood; one great-grandchild, Brooklynn Cartwright as well as a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Danny Bernard and Wayne Bernard. Special thanks to Melissa Height for the love and care she provided during the last days of her life. Services will be private. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Vilonia Funeral Home 1134 Main Street Vilonia, AR 72173. Sign the online guestbook at www.viloniafuneralhome.com
